Hello &Welcome!

My name is Debbie, but my friends just call me Deb. Thank you for your interest in me and my graphics.

About the Name....

Many have asked how I chose the name for this site and the best way to answer that is by giving the definition of "pollyanna"...

"a person characterized by irrepressible optimism and a tendency to find good in everything"

That best describes me, hence the name.  I wasn't always that way, but in my 45+ years on the planet, I've learned that patience truly is a virtue and that the best way for me to get peace of mind is through optimism...seeing the glass as half full and keeping the hope and faith I have in life and the world in general.

About My Artwork....

I was born to create.  I knew it at an early age.  I was painting my artwork on the walls at the age of 8 and by about the age of 11 or  so, I was heavily into decorating and doing anything creative.  I spent hours drawing, coloring and anything that involved making things come to life on paper.

I began doing digital art for the web in about 2001.  It took a while to adapt to drawing on the computer, but over time, I found my way.  I began with using a simple mouse and that is what I still use to this day.  Many artists have moved on to using pen tablets, but I like my old stand-by.  I create primarily in Paint Shop Pro, but occasionally I use Photoshop and Illustrator.

I consider myself to be multi-dimensional when it comes to my art.  Most artists seem to have a particular style and don't vary from it very much, but I like to do many different types of drawings.  I do everything from cutsie to elegant.  I draw according to mood and sometimes I like to do something cute and country and other days I might want to do something in a romantic cottage style.

My work has evolved over the years and I'm constantly learning and improving on my techniques, but wherever the road leads, I will continue to create in some form or fashion as long as God allows me to.
